Prove it all Night

God loves, you see, to be investigated by us humans.--Father Maximos, from the book, "The Mountain of Silence"

If the belief we have in God is not our own, we are skating on thin ice. If my faith is only a result of my parents, priest, or some spiritual guru, then it's not my heart that belongs to Jesus. I will not hold up when storms of suffering, confusion, frustration, fear, and failure rage against me. God does not want us to assume Who He is when it comes to being His child. He wants us each to dig on our own. He wants us each to prove or disprove Him! This cannot be done with logic or reason, scientifically, philosophically, psychologically, or geologically. He is beyond logic and reason. But He is not beyond the heart. Our hearts must lead the way in this seeking. There is great mystery God will only reveal to hearts.  If you follow Him, seek Him faithfully, walk with Him, and then time and time again He lets you down, it is possible that He is trying to destroy your borrowed faith and give you a deep faith of your own. We can't be afraid to try and find out Who He really is. If we are afraid of proving Him one way or another, then our faith will stay in shadow, and we will stay shallow.
