Watch this...

Eric Clapton wrote this for Richard Manuel (Piano player and singer for The Band) when he died in 1986 ..really beautiful..I just wish Clapton could play better....

a good time to wash clothes.

Grateful for the day..
for breath.
another Monday..,
on with the show..
The lazy eye always seems odd in pictures..
like it has a life of its own.
very mysterious how many of us have a "lazy eye"..
does it make for lazy sight?
i don't know.
She was here all weekend..
It was dreamlike.
I didn't want Sunday to come..
now we are apart again till Friday.
Bitter/Sweet are the days till then..
I think of soldiers being away from their loved ones for months..
not able to call on a whim..
our deal is nothing compared to theirs..
but it is our deal none the less..
I washed clothes at 4:00 this morning..
I have found it a good time to wash clothes.

Stimulate

Coffee is a stimulate
Wine is a stimulate
Mountain Dew is a stimulate
Five Hour Energy is a stimulate
Cayenne Pepper is a stimulate..
Red Bull..
Music stimulates..
Religion, ( or as many prefer to call it, "Spirituality) stimulates..
but is not the "Opium of the people"
if it were..
Religious folks might get along better..might be more easy going..
religion's affects can be observed in various aspects of life,
in friendship, life occupation, world view, politics..
it can stimulate an obscene ego driven sensation to believe one is "destined" for a higher calling...
or lively music and charismatic speakers can tickle (stimulate) the ears..
Dark chocolate is a stimulate
I like dark chocolate,
We are fearfully and wonderfully made
to experience stimulation..
in a multitude of forms..
Built for stimulation,
built to "get high", if you will..
made in His image..
and He is always recognized as the One high above us..
The Great Stimulator of our needy stimulateable souls

"our hearts won't rest until they rest in Thee"...St. Augustine

blessed are

blessed are the losers
for they still have something to win
blessed are the freaks
for they know something non freaks don't.
blessed are the curious
for they see sunsets
blessed are the Failure's
for they better understand the Wounded God/Man
blessed are the insane
for they hold secrets that could change the world
blessed are the beaten
for they differentiate beautifully the shadows
blessed are the lonely
for they dissect the silence amidst the cacophony of the normal mind

I don't know..

The more I come across folks who are confident about everything..
The more I scratch my head..
Whether it is people who say they know God, or people who don't believe in God,
if you close your eyes and listen to these folks make their points ,
The pathos is congruent.
Muslim, Non-Denominational, Catholic, Mormon, Bible Churcher, Buddhist..
there seems to be one constant..
a dogged self confidence in the idea grasped..
The thing I like about Roman Catholicism over the others?
It allows room for mystery...
Atheist don't ( When ya dead ya dead)
Baptist don't...(Once saved always saved)
Presbyterians don't..(Elect)
Muslim's don't..(Death to Infidels!)
I don't know..I'm just saying..
I ain't talking about Catholics being perfect or dependable..
Lord knows I ain't dependable or anywhere near perfect...heck no!
But there is a peace that passes understanding,
at least my understanding in this ancient Tradition..
and all that peace flows from one place..
the Eucharist...

The Deal

There are many "deals" going down..
"Debt Ceiling"..NFL..NBA..OPEC..EU..ETC..
honestly,
it's a crazy deal..
all of it..
Apple has more cash on hand than our Gov't..
Peyton Manning too..
Greece no longer belongs to the people of Greece..
bad deal there..
it's a crazy deal..
"If you plant seeds for corn, you get corn."-- that's what my Grandfather used to say..
he was not referring to corn,
but to the results we get from the politicians we elect..
Washington is a mirror of what is happening in our culture..
credit cards have ruined our sense of responsibility financially..
"our" Gov't is "us"..
like it or not..
"Crazy deal"---Buzz Stone
