the day is here

mystics spend a great deal of time in shadows

living in and out of light
they can seem aloof at times, even rude
they even feel this way about themselves
my priest told me something to this effect
or maybe he said,
Mystics don't see things in normal light
they can seem too much within
they are always restless for more of God
i think i get what he was saying
the Holy Thursday service was simply amazing
the presence of the Holy Spirit palpable
grace was imparted through the readings, the music, the homily,
the washing of the feet is always a bit odd and beautiful
grace flooded the room through the Communion of the Eucharist
falling like rain on hard, weary, receptive, lonely, hopeful, confused,
hearts
today is Good Friday
I always think of the Annunciation on Good Friday
Gabriel coming to a poor girl in the middle of nowhere
God becomes man
Simeon told her what was coming for her heart
for His side..
that day is here..
