The Ravine

we celebrated twenty four years together last night,
it is a miracle
not always easy, not at all,
it takes a special woman to "love me anyway"..
i do not take one minute of those years for granted,
we are still madly in love,
it is a grace,
as simple as that,,
good food, vino, humor, and the prayers of Mary,
i kid you not.
we dined at the Ravine,
the "small plate" was too delicious,
grilled garlicky shrimp atop bacon corncakes with avocado emulsion,
the middle plate was too incredible,
pecan crusted fried quail atop arugula & cucumber salad, sherry bacon vinaigrette,
the greens grown in their garden..
the large plates were too amazing,
Renee had house made pappardelle pasta tossed with portabellas, tomato, garden basil pesto
i had the chef's special,
grilled Char, served over Israeli couscous
The Cotes De Rhone tied everything together, a 2007
our taste buds were dancing,
as we would be later in the evening to Andrea Bocelli in our den..
"some days we walk in flowers,
some days we walk on stones"..Bruce Cockburn
as my priest says, "just keep walking"..
Everything is grace.
