"It is up to us whether we take advantage of these wake up calls", says Fr. Maximos. We are free will creatures. We can choose to give our love to God or we can choose to give our love to pride. It is an incredible revelation to our souls when we know we have a choice. We are not robots. We are not destined to follow pride, we are not destined to follow Jesus. We are guided by grace, and we are shown His heart, so that we might choose His way instead of pride. He will go to unbelievable lengths to help us choose His way.
