hallelujah

I heard there was a secret chord that David played and it pleased the Lord...-Leonard Cohen, from the song Hallelujah

Is there a time in our day, or night, when we play a secret chord for God? What is that simple little sound from our lives that pleases Jesus? Scripture says that without faith it is impossible to please Him. This does not mean that we won't have doubt. Our faith springs forth from our doubts, like the geyser, Old Faithful, springs from the earth. Without recognizing and dealing with our doubts, our faith will be shallow and easily overcome. My greatest tests of faith so far have always been born from my greatest and most troubling doubts. For instance, I do not know how we will make it to the goal set before us, but I know that faith will have something to do with it. So will grace and mercy. So will hope and pain. So will doubt. So will love. The cross of Jesus is not about having it all figured out, but it is the doorway to something that makes our doubts bloom into the rose pedals of a beautiful faith.
