St. Paul said we fight the good fight. It is truly a battle for virtue, a battle against vice. We are so easily full of vice, without much effort at all. But to be full of virtue, that is a fight. It comes through grace working within our lives, and our response to grace. The reward, Paul said, makes the struggle seem like nothing in comparison. "Lord, help us right now to believe this. Help us die to ourselves and live for You, even while stumbling through this valley of tears."
