Trust and Openness

To wait with openness and trust is an enormously radical attitude toward life. It is choosing to hope that something is happening for us that is far beyond our own imaginings.-- Henri J.M. Nouwen

In football, the basics of blocking and tackling are where everything begins and ends. If these two aren't sure, nothing else is sure in the game plan. In our journey with God, trust and openness are the same. The devil knows this. Life is full of distractions and big ideas that tempt us to forget the basics of our faith. Trust and openness is where we begin, and it is also where we end. No matter how much pain and suffering we go through, we need to trust in, and be open to our Beloved's ability to get us through it. Even when everything we can see or feel tells us He has forgotten us, or worse, knows what we are going through but doesn't care. This is why trusting and be open is a radical attitude in this life.
