Listen to what life is saying in the present moment before trying to shape your prayer.--Fr. Benedict Groeschel

 

There is so much wisdom in taking a moment to listen before we start speaking. Praying is never going to be what it can be in our life if we don't try to grow it. We must spend time and effort in our life of talking and listening with God. If we listen and take note of what is going on around and in us when we pray, our prayers will change. By God's grace, we will start praying things Jesus would have us pray. When this starts to happen, so will amazing things in our life. Maybe not things we expect or even want at the moment they come, but our hearts start to become more His, and deeper into union with Him we will go.
