Chasing after the Wind

Therefore I loathed life, since for me the work that is done under the sun is evil; for all is vanity and chasing after the wind.---Ecclesiastes

I count all things as dung compared to knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.--St. Paul

The writer of Ecclesiastes is lamenting how all he has done will probably end up in the hands of a fool after he dies. This is the great example of attachment to ones things and standing in life. St. Paul's attitude is sweet detachment from all things, good or bad in this life. Which of these two writers had peace? Which one do we follow after? Do we chase after wind, which we will never catch; or, do we chase after the calling of God on our lives?
