Lunatics

God is not a hypothesis derived from logical assumptions, but an immediate insight, self-evident as light. He is not something to be sought in the darkness with the light of reason. He is the light. --Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel

Jesus said, "I am the Light." Jesus was not like other rabbis. He baffled the religious of His day because of saying things like, "Before Abraham, I am." He was so much more than a another teacher. Some religious thinkers try to place Jesus among great leaders such as Gandhi, Mohammad, Martin Luther King Jr., etc.. as just another good teacher. But the problem is, none of those guys ever claimed to be God. Jesus made no bones about it. He called Himself The Light, The Way, Life, Truth. Jesus was the walking Torah, especially when He was walking on water. He is the Word the Father speaks. As C.S. Lewis said, "He was either a Liar, a lunatic, or, He was Who He said He was." We who believe Him may at times be accused of lunacy, we can only hope..
