An Impostor

A life is either all spiritual or not spiritual at all. No man can serve two masters. Your life is shaped by the end you live for. You are made in the image of what you desire. ---Thomas Merton

There is a great simplicity with Jesus. Either we live for Him, or, we don't. There is no middle ground. We try to keep one foot in the world and one foot in our relationship with Him, but this is impossible. God made us to be devoted to the thing we love most. The one thing can only be Him, for only in the One Who made us can we be all we are meant to be. When Eve and Adam grasped at something other than God, this devotion was broken. This is what Jesus died for, our devotion, which leads us to sanctification, salvation, and walking with Him again in the cool of the day. And how does God woo us back to this devotion?,, with His Passion. He does not force our devotion, and He never will. If we are devoted to something other than Jesus, we will find this to be our life. But He said that He is Life, so, anything else must be an impostor.
