Real Wood

We must embrace struggle. Every living thing conforms to it. Everything in nature grows and struggles in its own way, establishing its own identity. insisting on it at all cost, against all resistance.---Rainer Maria Rilke

What is life without struggle? It is deceptive when everything is smooth. When we grind it out in faith, when we push against our own bad habits, we find a door. What is behind this door?, liberty! What do the struggles against self and sin resemble?, a cross. What is the liberty?, an empty tomb! Jesus said unless the seed dies, it cannot bear fruit. This is not easy to embrace, it is a never ending decision to follow Him. He is patient, He is not like us. He knows our hearts, He knows how hard it is. We become frustrated, He doesn't. He keeps telling us to hold on. Mary keeps telling us to love and hope. She says, " I touched the cross that day when my Son, our Lord, died. It was real wood. Your struggles are real, He knows this. Hope in His mercy, and in His perfect love for you. He will not fail you."
