Ghosts in Love

Feel like a ghost in love, underneath the heavens above.---Bob Dylan

Isn't this how it feels to be in love with God, to be the waiting bride of this mysterious and demanding Groom? We feel around in the darkness most of the time. We grope for help. We long for His face, we pine for His kiss. Read the Song of Songs and you will see this is nothing new to feel this way about Yahweh. But because of Jesus, there is a new awareness of this intimacy with God. Our Groom has nail marks in His hands and feet. He has a scar in his side. This makes God closer, touchable. He gives His Flesh and Blood for our food and drink. This means that we pursue because we are pursued. We love because He first loved us. If this be the case, then we must become more passionate in our desire to stay near Him, and to His sacred Heart, no matter how He wounds us. We begin this with prayer, meditation, contemplation, and receiving Him in the Mass. We then carry the search into the daily toil and joy of living. He must become everything to us. Our art, science, music, accounting, lawyering, decorating, etc.. we are ghosts in love..
